The Challenge

When SEARHC (the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium) changed its corporate logo, the CEO wanted the new image out in front of the more than 18 communities the organization serves as soon as possible. Although most of these communities are small and remote, SEARHC faces a lot of competition as a health care service provider in these markets.

The Solution

The quickest, most cost-effective solution was to use SEARHC employees as a billboard for the new logo through branded apparel. As part of this effort, SEARHC instituted a casual Friday polo into its dress code. The Promo Agency helped the company select and source a fashion-forward piece in both men’s and ladies’ styles that was provided to all employees.

The CEO was so pleased to see the new logo every Friday on so many of his workers that he decided to order a garment that would be functional and desirable enough to wear any day of the week. So he purchased logo-branded Bionic Jackets from The North Face as the employee end-of-year gift. The soft-shell jackets are versatile enough to be worn as outerwear or as a top layer while indoors.

The Benefits

The CEO was happy to see a large percentage of his staff wear their new North Face jackets almost every day of the week — spreading awareness of the company’s new visual identity as they did. In fact, SEARHC opted to give employees a water- and wind-resistant Under Armour hooded pullover and a North Face beanie that’s water- and wind-resistant for their end-of-year gift the very next year. The CEO hoped his employees would wear the pullovers and beanies on weekends during their personal time — and they do! They enjoy their attractive appearance, and their water-resistant features make them perfect for the company’s location in the Alaskan rainforest.

Overall, the branded apparel program has been a huge hit with employees, while very effectively promoting SEARHC’s new corporate logo and branding throughout the many small communities the company serves.
